Pumpkin orange, black, purple and an acid green: four colours are enough to make Halloween. Dark fabric gives a night-time look, as long as the threads stay light enough to be seen.
A 30-stitch pumpkin takes two or three evenings. It is the right size for a card, a bookmark or a small frame to set out for the party.
